On the noon of September 22, the first 8000TEU container vessel "KMTC DAMMAM" built by our group's New Yangzi Shipbuilding for Lepta was delivered and departed from the shipyard wharf. This vessel is the first in a series of 8,000 TEU container vessels built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group for Lepta. This vessel, which was built in accordance with the rules and regulations of class NK, measures 272.0 meters in length overall, 42.8 meters in moulded width, scantling draft of 14.40m and design speed of 21.5 knots. It features high container capacity and large deadweight, enabling flexible deployment on major global shipping routes.

This vessel type is a MARIC HERCULES 8000TEU class container vessel, a new generation of green medium-sized container vessels developed in response to market demand. The hull form has been custom-optimized based on the shipowner's operating routes. On September 22, our group and the shipowner jointly held a naming ceremony for the new vessel. Mr. Jeong Hyun-yong, the namer and Vice President of KMTC, Ms. Kim Sung-hee, the godmother, Mr. Katsuya Abe, President of Nissen Kaiun, as well as relevant leaders of our group, representatives of partners, personnel and guests from the PD site team, and others attended the ceremony. Witnessed by representatives from all parties, on the same day, Mr. Katsuya Abe, President of Nissen Kaiun, Mr. Yuichi Fujimoto, Executive Officer of Orient Marine Co., Ltd., and Mr. Du Chengzhong, Vice General Manager of our group and General Manager of New Yangzi Shipbuilding, jointly signed the delivery documents of “KMTC DAMMAM”.
