Delivery of the first 9000TEU Methanol dual-fuel Container Vessel "TANGIER MÆRSK" built for MAERSK

On the afternoon of February 6th, the 9000TEU methanol dual-fuel container vessel "TANGIER MÆRSK," built by our group's New Yangzi Shipbuilding for shipowner Maersk, was delivered and departed from the shipyard wharf.

 

The vessel measures 274 meters in length overall, 45.6 meters in moulded width, 24.2 meters in moulded depth, and a deadweight tonnage of approximately 114,000 tons, which was built in accordance with the rules and regulations of class LR. Highlights of the vessel type: (1) Green - methanol dual-fuel propulsion; (2) High efficiency - flexible and efficient loading; (3) Intelligent - highly intelligent ship monitoring system.

On the morning of January 30, our group and Maersk jointly held a grand naming ceremony for the vessel. The namer, Ms. Anda Cristescu, Vice President of Chartering and Newbuilding Business of Maersk, Mr. Ren Letian, Chairman of our group, and representatives of relevant partners and other leaders and guests attended the ceremony. Ms. Anda Cristescu named the new vessel "TANGIER MÆRSK".

 

On the same day, Mr. Frants Sommer Reuss, Fleet Director of Maersk, and Mr. Du Chengzhong, Vice General Manager of our Group and General Manager of New Yangzi Shipbuilding, signed the delivery documents of “TANGIER MÆRSK” on behalf of their respective parties.
